Many of our patients
have previously been told by physicians there
was nothing wrong with their health according to
their tests. They may have also been told their
health problems or symptoms were related to
“nerves.” The patient usually winds up getting a
pain pill or tranquilizer regardless of their
problem. Many patients over the years with
chronic illnesses have seen multiple doctors and
have been asked by their doctor to consult a
psychiatrist. Many patients have done so without
the desired results. The implication of this is
that since the doctor is not alleviating the
symptoms of the patient’s primary complaints,
the pains, or the condition, it must be on a
psychological level rather than a biochemical or
physical one. Unfortunately, we find that many
patients have gone through the very same so
called “health process” with very little
results. At our clinic, after a comprehensive
diagnostic evaluation, we do find significant
psychological factors involved in patients’
chief complaints or illnesses. However, we
usually find them as an after effect due to the
primary biochemical or physical abnormalities
that existed first, which had previously been
undetected and misdiagnosed.
At the Western
Oklahoma Center for Health and Wellness, our
doctors are specifically educated in the field
of alternative and physical medicine. They have
many hours of continuing education in the newest
field of holistic and preventative medicine
techniques. With the sophisticated and sensitive
testing methods available today, the degree of
“health loss” can be measured long before you
develop a disabling illness. This allows us the
earliest detection of the patient’s chief
complaint and correlates the patient’s symptoms
in order to plan a program of prevention, before
the onset of significant disease. We find that
with early intervention and reducing known risk
factors, most health catastrophes could be
prevented.
Many of the newer
diagnostic tests and equipment used in the field
of alternative and preventative medicine are
employed at the Western Oklahoma Center for
Health and Wellness. Evaluating a person’s
health requires a logical approach, beginning
with a thorough diagnostic history. Diagnostic
procedures are followed in a sequential fashion,
similar to putting a jigsaw puzzle together,
until we can see the overall picture of YOU as a
totally functioning individual, and where YOU
need to be at an optimum state of good health.
A brief description
of some of the testing procedures and treatment
follow. Some or all of the treatment procedures
may be ordered on a patient, depending on
information gained from their health history,
examination, and initial visit.
