Pre-Employment Physicals
Includes D.O.. physical, Spirometry, C-Rays, Hearing test, And Urinalysis
D.O.T. Physical: is a series of testing mandated by the Department of Transportation and a card issued after completion.
Spirometry: is a test that will measure the amount of air in your lungs and amount you can breathe out in one second. This is an ideal measure to determine how lungs are functioning.
X-rays: Anterior to Posterior and lateral lumbar for analysis of lower back to determine arthritis, previous injuries, deteriorating and thinning of disc and shows Doctor if risk for injury in particular segments of labor practices
Hearing Testing: Hearing exams accurate hearing may be essential, but measuring a baseline for hearing is necessary to determine if hearing loss may be occurring secondary to occupational exposure.
Urinalysis: is used to screen sugar, protein, blood, ketones, and specific gravity, which can be a major indicator for other health complications. It may be somewhat inconvenient to collect your urine for 24 hours, but the value of what can be about your body functions cannot be overemphasized. We double check all mineral and toxin levels in the body by measuring the urinary output of these substances. Also, many waste products, which we can directly measure in the urine, indicate what may be happening in the body. Much can be learned about the liver, kidneys, heart, spleen, brain, pancreas, and many other functions simply by measuring certain chemicals called metabolites in the urine. We also use 24 hour urine specimens to determine how much of a toxin or poison you may have stored up in your body tissues such as fat and bone. Specific directions on how to collect a 4 hour urine specimen, if ordered, will be given to you at your initial visit.
