Keep in mind the foods you eat are nothing more than a mixture of complex chemicals put together in a pattern according to the genetic blueprint of the plant or animal. Your body is a very complex chemical factory. It needs raw products (chemicals) to make its final product, a healthy body full of energy.
For reasons not fully understood, people can become allergic to anything that exists in their environment (including foods and chemicals.) This may cause devastating reactions in the body chemistry. The person may be totally unaware anything is wrong because they may have no symptoms. People can appreciate how devastating these reactions can be, however, when they read about someone getting a shot of penicillin or being stung by a bee and dropping dead.
We find many patients develop addictive-like cravings for many of the very foods to which they are allergic. We refer to this as an addictive food allergy reaction, and find this problem common in obesity and with long standing chronic illnesses.
Food allergies are a medical mystery. Not only are we unsure of why they occur, but also many symptoms cannot be directly related to any particular allergic reaction. Some reactions may occur immediately, while others may be delayed up to three days after a food is eaten. This makes it difficult, if not impossible, to directly correlate a particular food to a certain symptom.
We test your blood against a limited number of foods and chemicals to determine if there are a significant number of reactions. It is important for us to know how reactive you are and to what foods you are reacting! Many patients have been told by their physicians there was nothing wrong with them, yet they continued to express multiple allergic reactions, and continued to persist with their illness.
Hyperactivity in children, anxiety and depression, headaches, obesity, skin problems, all types of vague aches and pains, and many other problems have been found directly related to food allergies. These problems are usually resolved when the allergic substances are removed from their diets. Expanding upon this work, methods are now available to test for pollens, grasses, trees, dust, and all types of environmental chemicals.
