The
world we live in is an amazing place. All at the
same time we are inventing new technology that
will forever change our world and we are
rediscovering ancient technology that has been
used in healing for centuries. These two
practices are perfect examples of how we are
combing the two.
Acupressure is the
practice of acupuncture without needles. It has
been practiced for at least 5000 years in China
and is now practiced by many here in the United
States. The body’s electrical system consists of
12 main and 2 control meridian systems. Each
meridian contains 25-150 acupressure points and
these meridians are associated with specific
organs in the body. Through the manipulation of
these points a wide variety of complaints can be
addressed such as headaches, toothaches, eye
problems, breathing problems, allergies, etc.
Pressure can be
applied to these points, or needles, but how
about something new. A device resembling a
flashlight that is actually a low level bright
laser. When this light is focused on an
acupressure point it stimulates the body,
provides energy to the parts of cells that are
designed to heal and repair damage, and speeds
up metabolism and the healing process. The
entire treatment is non-invasive, does no damage
to the tissues, and has no harmful side effects.
